About Us

Company Overview

Sonalika Publications is a home-grown children’s publishing house where stories, values, and fine craft meet on every page.

We create books that feel like home—books that spark curiosity, open new questions, nurture emotional strength, and stay with children for years to come.

From storybooks to early learning programs, every Sonalika title is designed with one belief at its core:

A child’s world deserves warmth, beauty and truth.

Our Story

Sonalika Publications began with a simple question from a mother:

“Where can I find good, value-rich books for my children?”

The search for an honest answer grew into a publishing house that treats every book like a small gurukul—a space where learning flows naturally, joyfully, and without pressure.

Our first book, If I Can Dream It, I Can Do It – Volume 1, introduced real changemakers from different walks of life. Children suddenly saw role models who looked like people around them. They learned that courage, compassion and success don’t need a stage—they can begin in any street, home, or classroom.

As we worked closely with parents and educators, a deeper need emerged. Schools across India were looking for early-learning materials that were structured, pedagogy-strong, and culturally grounded.

This led to our Early Learners range: English curriculum and phonics books that follow global teaching frameworks while staying rooted in the real worlds Indian children live in.

Today, our books are equally at home in a village school, an international classroom, a reading corner, or a family’s bedtime routine.

What We Stand For

Rooted Indian Childhood

Our books celebrate everyday Indian childhood moments—kites in the sky, banyan trees, festivals, family gatherings, and conversations that feel familiar yet meaningful.

Craftsmanship & Warmth

Illustrations, typography, pacing, emotions—every element is crafted with care. We use 100% recycled paper and keep pricing accessible so every child can own a beautiful book.

Real-World Relevance

Our stories open gentle doors to conversations around inclusion, ageing, menstrual health, emotions, money sense, kindness, and more—topics children often wonder about but rarely find in books.

Strong Pedagogy

Every learning resource is built on proven global frameworks, adapted to India’s diversity. We design for clarity, simplicity, and joyful learning.

Inclusivity & Representation

Children should see themselves—and others—reflected in stories. Our books bring a wide range of cultures, communities, abilities and experiences to the page.

Surbhi Mittal - Director

When I became a mother, I realised something simple yet powerful—children don’t just read books; they live them.
I looked for stories that were gentle, value-rich, rooted in our culture, and written with honesty. Stories that made children pause, smile, question, wonder. Stories that didn’t rush them, pressure them, or overwhelm them. But I couldn’t find enough of them.

And so, Sonalika Publications was born—out of a mother’s wish to give her children the kind of books that would shape their minds and steady their hearts. Every book we create carries that same intention. Warmth over pressure. Craft over clutter. Truth over noise. I believe childhood is sacred. And books should honour it.

Sonalika Publications is my promise to every parent, every teacher, every child— that learning can be joyful, emotional intelligence can be nurtured gently, and values can be passed on beautifully. Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, may we raise readers who grow into kind, curious, confident humans.
